Radio beacon studies at PRL
Abstract
The study of ionosphere by recording the radio beacons from orbiting or geostationary satellites over Ahmedabad in the past five decades are reviewed. Results presented cover both the total electron content of the ionosphere and the radio wave scintillation in the low latitudes covering the region from the magnetic equator to beyond the ionization anomaly crest. Results from coordinated multi-station campaigns conducted for radio scintillation studies and also from other techniques are also covered. Some recent results obtained from studies conducted over the Indian region by other institutions/groups in India are also highlighted.
